Currently Not Collectible (CNC) means that a taxpayer, through severe financial hardship, has no ability to pay their tax debt. If this is the case, the Internal Revenue Service can declare their account “currently not collectible.” Once a CNC is declared, the IRS must stop all collection activities, including levies and garnishments. If you find yourself in a position where you’re unable to pay your taxes, Direct Tax Relief can help you through the CNC process.
